What do you guys use when writing screenplays. Ive been using ms works and I find it hard getting the format right. Ive seen a few templates for word but I dont seem to have word on my pc just wordpad and ms works. I cant afford final draft at the moment, Which seems to be the industry standard. Do any of you use it? Is it any good. Maybe you could put it on a blank cd for me to "evaluate". I could send you something Of mine to "evaluate". I dont know its just an idea.

Can't you borrow MS-office from someone?
MS word is far more powerfull then Works.
I don't use any screen writing software, just word, that works fine.
But check the screen writing tutorial on the Eejit's Guide to Film-making on the site of http://www.exposure.co.uk

As Kathy says, those templates from Guerilla are good. Infact so good, I bought the full version (and haven't written anything since).
You will NEED to go out and get MS Word though. Works is not up to much when it comes to big stuff!

get Scriptmaker from
http://web.ukonline.co.uk/ianto/
It's free so you don't need to buy Word (bloated Jabba the Hutt of the wordprocessing world)
There're also storyboard tools on there
Cheers

I use some software called Script Thing. Its pretty good, it remembers character names, locations and shots. It formats everything nicely for you and is easy to use.
I can't remember where I got it. Search on Yahoo, I am sure you will find it.
